Proud mommy

I think, I hope it is natural to believe that our own children are the prettiest, smartest, most talented individuals. Right? Well if not just let me think that it is natural while you read on!
Through a friend of mine Angelia
I found a photographer who is working from home, always loved photography and started taking pictures for other people. I have mentioned her in the past, she took my christmas card picture, you know the cute one with the lolipops. Well she is amazing!!!! That is all I can say, you will have to just check her out for yourself!Melody. this is her blog site, go visit & leave her a comment. All bloggers love comments. Hint, Hint!
Well she took pictures of my little cowgirlz for Adelyn's 2nd Birthday a few weeks ago and of course again she blew me away with creativity and keeping the girlz focused, which is difficult at 2 & 3 and in 40 degree weather. Yesterday she emailed me a shot of Avery that was chosen for best photo of the day on pink ink sudios! Please be sure and vote tomorrow & show Melody your support & because Avery is just precious. The picture I posted today does not even do justice for the work Melody"> did to the ones at pink ink studios. Check it out, it is amazing if I do say so myself! Thanks Melody.
I am still deciding what size I should have it made, what do you think?
Lifesize, maybe! Leave me a comment and tell me what you think.

Let's Rodeo San Antonio

For those of you non San Antonio readers, the last 18 days has been all about Rodeo. We have been the largest indoor Rodeo 3 years in a row!!! That is a big deal for us! We have a traveling carnival, miniature horse rides, petting zoo, great entertainment, greasy food, cooties, portabl bathrooms, lots of free junk, $9.00 beers, lots of shopping and of course the best people watching you can do anywhere! I mean really, what do some people think when they plan for the trip to the Rodeo? Not being mean or anything but it is just crazy what myself included throw together to look country!!!! I had an outfit made for the girlz fom this fabulous custom designer on Etsy. I found her through Melody otherwise known as Hipmomma, Her name is Lyssa from Sweetblingado. She can be reached at www.sweetblingado.etsy.com. Etsy is a website where everything is handcrafted, really a great site and many original confections! I thought that my girlz looked absolutely adorable. They must have thought so to because I have never seen them have as much fun as they did! They danced, rode the ponies, participated in an imaginary pony race, had their picture taken too many times to count and the list goes on!

Avery even found two men to dance the mommy daddy dance with her. That is the two step if your wondering! The outfits were so precious and the attention to detail blew me away! The shirt said Rodeo Princess with a Tiarra & rhinestones and the jeans were sparkly jeans with the most precious fabric around the ankles, appliques from mathching fabric in the shape of a heart, star & a flower. Of course bling bling on the appliques which had the words Cowgirl up embroderied on the leg! And a matching reversible belt and not to leave out the rhinestone letter A on the back pocket! Just toooooo cute!!! Thanks Lyssa, we have already placed our Easter outfits! (I need spell check, is anyone else having such technical difficulties?

We also cannot leave out the wonderful playmates that went with us, Caylee & Paige. Thanks friends for sharing in all the fun!

Spirited Child

Avery is my Spirited child!

As described by my friend Webster this means: Spir´it`ed
Adj. 1. spirited - displaying animation, vigor, or liveliness
Antonyms:
spiritless - lacking ardor or vigor or energy; "a spiritless reply to criticism"
2. spirited - marked by lively action; "a bouncing gait"; "bouncy tunes"; "the peppy and interesting talk"; "a spirited dance"
Synonyms: peppy, zippy, bouncing, bouncy
3. spirited - willing to face danger
Synonyms: game, gritty, mettlesome, spunky, gamey, gamy
4. spirited - made lively or spirited; "a meal enlivened by the music"; "a spirited debate"
Synonyms: enlivened

Avery is so full of life and character, animation and confidence that this is her world & we are all visitors!!! I love this about her on most days! I helped encourage this character, I believed that she should be able to explore & see everything through her own eyes and definition. Not what I see or believe or think or feel! I mean I get discouraged when people say to her or anyone for that matter… “No don’t eat that you won’t like it” Well honestly how do you know, because you don’t like it, or when they say “ Don’t do that you will get hurt,” (and they do not even know what she is about to do). I mean let her and all people try things without unsolicited advice and opinion! She is exploring & right now she is only 3 and at such an impressionable age, everything is new, it is on most days the first time she has ever seen, tasted, touched, heard or experienced whatever or wherever are journey is taking us to! I have to constantly keep reminding myself of all of my own beliefs, Lately my patience are not what they were with only toddler & one infant! Now I have two toddlers!!! Both very independent & SPIRITED!!!
I am constantly reminding myself that she is only 3 & learning, like when she puts her dirty hands in the not yet ready purple Jell-O & pulls it out dripping sticky purple drops all over my clean floor saying look mommy! How was she to know Jell-O took hours to become ready! I mean really at Luby’s it is always ready to eat!!! Now next time I am allowed to get mad right?

This is Avery tooting her own horn, Supergirl hat, orange apron digging in the dirt for treasure!!!! Gotta love it!!

This is where my challenge comes in. I am so afraid of breaking her spirit that I sometimes let her get away with too much!!! I feel as if I am the child needing to go to timeout or give my self a spanking because she is only acting the way she is allowed to act! I need balance, I give to many choices so I set myself up for a fight! I have been praying very hard about this dilemma! I do not want to break her spirit, yet I feel I am constantly on her case for something. God works in mysterious ways, I was looking through a book of testimony and saw a verse that just spoke to me Proberbs 17:22 A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. I am a little confused on the verse, does it mean don’t crush her sprit, where do I draw the line? Boundaries? I need tem. Send me another verse Lord!! Please. Proverbs is such a great chapter in the Bible,I should just keep reading! Or, maybe I am as usual over analyzing this!!! Feel free to leave advice, I need it!

Cooties.....ewwwww

I just thought this was too funny not to share!
Especially since this past week was full of cooties, vomit, Diahria, germs everywhere!!!! If you get disgussted easy, stop reading, scroll down to another post please!!! Both the girlz were sick with a horrible smelling obviously very contagious virus, I believe that we must have gotten last week when we went to the Pediatrician's office for a well visit! Don't you just love Dr.s offices? Ugh! I really think I almost lost my religion last week, I almost wanted to start smoking, just for a break, I mean not really! But becoming an alcoholic crossed my mind as well..... I thought oh then I can give myself an intervention at some fabulous resort. I mean rehab in Utah or California! I’m mean that’s how the stars make it look like. Just all fun and relaxing!!!! And doesn't everyone want to be a super star? All kidding aside, I really feel I was admitted into the Arnold house all week, like a had a broken down vehicle or I lost the key that let us outside!!! My babies were going crazy, we could not go anywhere, everytime I thought it was over they quickly showed me with a horrible smelly green mess to clean up & usually it was not on tile..carpet! And most of our house is tile! Or on the way to the Dr. in the car all over the car seat I just cleaned the night before for the same reason!!! Friday night we had been cootie free for over 24 hours, so I thought lets drive & see daddy in Austin!!! Well we almost made it there & poor Avery lost her cookies & chocolate milk again all over her precious Rodeo outfit, (it was rodeo day at school) & car seat! Sweet little angel so innocently said mommy, I don't look beautiful anymore! I almost cried. I said you look beautiful no matter what, dirty, sick, you are always beautiful to me!!!! We did go see daddy & had to spend the night becuse the night got worse way before it got better!!!!! But at least we got to spend the night with daddy, I mean I am sure he enjoyed being kept up all night long in a hotel room with a sick baby!!!!!! Thanks Honey, we love you lots & just wanted shareare cooties with you!!!

Shy.......... Not

Shy........No I just act like it when mommy wants my picture taken!
Friday was Adelyn's turn for a date with Mommy! We put on our Fancy outfits and headed downtown to the Empire Theatre where we saw Madeline & the Bad Hat! I must say it was very entertaining & Adelyn all of 2 sat through it amazingly! My little baby is becoming cultured! The theatre was beautiful with the most elegant Gold leaf painting. The musical was about a very curious little girl, Madeline who attended boarding school in Paris and she meets a new neighbor, the Spanish Ambassadors son, Pepito who is quite a pill. Which is why Maeline calls him the bad hat, someone who causes trouble! He is very mischevious & very cruel to animals!! But then Madeline made a vow to never call him a Bad Hat if he promised to never be cruel to animals! And somewhere along the way Madeline taught the Ambassador that Pepito was always getting into trouble because he was lonely and missed his father! And you know how it ended, the Ambassador suddenly had more time for Pepito & all was back to fine & dandy in Paris! A great story, it taught me no matter how important and crazy our life often seems, the most important things in our life cannot be put on hold! They keep growing even without our personal attention of water and nourishment! I know I need to stop sometimes and relish in the moment, enjoy each day to the fullest for they seem to go by so fast! Except of course when our baby's are sick, husbands are out of town, or when life has just dealt us a bad case of the blues, then the day seems to linger, whats the cure? I guess just to put back on my big girl pants and ge back at it, someone needs me!!!!

Thanks Kim for giving us the tickets, we really enjoyed ourselves!

Date Night

I had been asked out on a date sometime last week! I was so excited, I said yes immediately! My date already knew what we were going to do all I had to do was chaperone and pay oh and take Adelyn to Nanny's house.
Avery has been a little bit over looked the last few weeks due to Adelyn being sick then having surgery then having the big 2nd Birthday party! So last week we were reading our night night books, saying our prayers & singing our songs and she said "Mommy, can you & me go on a playdate?" I said sure baby where do you want to go? Very quickly as if she had been thinking about this for hours she said...." I want to go & get a manicure & pedicure & go to a mommy & daddy place to eat!" She was so matter of fact, I loved the idea! She wanted to go eat at a japanese restaraunt in Conroe, Tx so I told her we would go on another date for that! Maybe even with Daddy & Adelyn.

We started off at Starbucks! She was so excited about her very own Hot Coco! The lovely lady working offered to take our picture. She could tell we were on our first date!!! We only spilled the coco once as we tripped out the door! Avery tripped for all my friends that know what a clutz I am it was not me but my graceful daughter!! Poor baby of all the traits to get from me and she gets the gift of
GAB and being GRACEFUL!!!! Sorry Avery!

Here we are getting our relaxing Mani & pedi's! Avery corrected me no mommy manicure & pedicure!! Sorry again. Avery took the liberty of picking out our colors, bright turquoise with turquoise glitter! Hot stuff! She was so talkative and excited. Thanks to Lauren a customer who was getting a pedicure with he mom who took our picture!

The lady working told me oh please make sure she no spill her drink, I no clean up mess! Then the lady told me tell her sit still no move, I only do once! Even though she did fix at least 5 times! I bought the beautiful turquoise polish for a souvenir of our date! Poor Avery, she thought the experience was so great even though the lady needed a chill pill! Avery told me on the way home, "Mommy, maybe we can do this agin sometime just you & me! I had fun!!!!" If my my baby only knew how much the evening touched my heart! I had fun & I hope in 10 plus years you still want to have a manicure & pedicure with your mommy & go eat at a mommy & daddy place for dinner!
I love you Avery Ray!!!!

Immunizations

UGH!!!!
Poor Baby girl, had to go & get even more pokes by needles! I felt so bad for her. We walk in to the Pediatricians office& she immediately was saying no hurt me mamma! No hurt me! I thought of all the ways I could take the shot for her with no conclusion! Miss Adelyn was not a very cooperative patient to say the least! She would not let the Dr. look in her throat, nose or ears without a fight! She just wanted to be left alone!!! When it was all said & done & she had her pink band of courage on her leg we got an excellent bill of health! Adelyn is in the upper 75% for both height & weight! They say if you double height at 2 that is how tall the child will be! I do not know the truth behind it all because that would make Adelyn almost 6 feet tall & for those of you that know me standing barely 4"11 her possibilities of height are slim!!! But we can hope! I will not tell her any different. She is perfect just as she is!!!!!

Papa Arnold

Just a super sweet picture of our Papa! We love you lot's & thank you for the fun filled weekend! Sorry Meme I did not have any pictures with you this time! Please all of you reading, my in-laws own a cleaners in Corpus Christi & last night it burnt down and need your prayers for strength and patience! No one was hurt, it started in the electrical box about 10:00 at night!
Not a 100% loss but none the less the totals keep coming in! Thank Heaven for insurance & a great daddy that will be there to help Papa & Meme get back on line in a matter of days! Our thoughts & prayers are with you, xoxoxox Texascowgirlz

Birthday Marathon!

Avery & Adelyn in their pettiskirts! Don't you just love them?

Mommy's Baby! Has anyone figured out how to stop our every thing's from growing up?

Happy 2nd Birthday my Sweet little Bean!
We had a marathon Birthday for the precious Baby! On Thursday her actual Birthday we had a small family dinner with nanny & dadoo, Aunt Kathy & Uncle John, Patrick & Mariann & of course Aunt T.T, Uncle Steve & Sheppard. Oh & I almost forgot our daddy was able to join us for cake & ice cream! Thanks Daddy!
It was so the start of our Birthday tour!

Then Friday night we had a friendly get together with all our friends and our Aunt Missy & Uncle Fraser who of course brought our favorite puppy Elizabeth Taylor! Fun was had by all! Then up & at em early Saturday morning to go share the festivities with our cousins, Uncle Mark & Meme & Papa in Corpus Christi, Texas. Shrek was the theme for all festivities. You would ask Addey what she wanted & she would say SHREK cake Mama! So we had a Shrek overload! Shrek Birthday cake 3 times, Shrek Pinata because every party in Texas must have a pinata, Shrek tablecloth, napkins, cups, plastic ware! I am over Shrek!

Thanks to everybody who helped make my baby girlz Birthday so memorable & so much fun!! Most that know me know I usually do a full shindig at home with Bouncy things in the yard, crafts that are so fun & so messy, lot's of food all homemade with love by mommy & daddy & yummy cake! But with all the medical issues we went through over the last month I could not get it together! I was feeling very guilty for not going to all that trouble! But when it was all said and done, Boy it was so nice to not clean up for days before & after the party!!

Happy Birthday baby girl, I wish you many more!

Oh my goodness! My little 3 year old going on 16! Sweet Sally, she thinks she is Carrie Underwood & actually if she is in the guitar pickin, song writing & singing mood she will tell you that her name is "Avery Carrie Underwood A@#$". When she plays make believe that is always her name!
She amazes me with what moves she has picked up off of just music videos. I will be monitoring what video's she watches a little differently! This past weekend we went to Corpus Christi to visit the in-laws, Meme & Papa & Avery took her guitar & Cowgirl hat as she never leaves home without & proceeded to perform what I thought was to be just a song she wrote. Well then she started dancing like a big girl, moving her hips and wiggling around a bit to much! I was shocked. Fortunately I do not think she knew what she was doing only that we were laughing & changing the activity to a bit more modest tune. I just hope she does not repeat that at church choir practice or Sunday school! They will wonder what her mommy does at night? I am all about encouraging her spirit but Avery you are only 3!!!! (As you can tell by the food all over the shirt, she still needs a little assistance with pudding!)
And that face she is giving me is just tooo much!!!!

What a cold day at the park!
This was a few weeks ago at Raymond Russell Park! One of our favorite parks in San Antonio. And one of the only parks I know with a merry go round! Is it just me or does it scare other people? I feel as if they will fall off while the merry go round is going and while trying to get up all I will see is her little head going bong, bong, bong!!!! Anyway we still like it and try to go early when big children are in school! This was before Miss Adelyn's ear surgery. I will post some after surgery pics later! A big difference on the dark circles.

Three little Monkeys

I am so far behind on my thoughts and pictures I just feel as if I need a backhoe to help me out of my hole! But i need to start somewhere or they will just keep piling up! Amazing, I still find time to check my email, my favorite bloggers, ebay, etsy! Just never enough to journal my thoughts!
Anyway I will pretend as if it is the first of January! Happy New Year! One of my resolutions is to download my pictures out of my camera before they get to maximum capacity! Which has been known to be over 900 pictures to good to erase! What am I thinking? Today was only 222. So I am at least better than before. This is a picture of the A's all three lil monkey's dancing on stage at Incredible Pizza Company!
